Today

Yesterday while driving down Bragg boulevard, I noticed an old gentlemen sitting in a lawn chair in front of a tombstone inside the Fort Bragg Cemetery. I somehow knew that he was keeping his wife company or that she was keeping him company. I wondered how many quiet moments they had taken advantage of while they were both still here on earth. I wondered if they even took the time to sit with one another, talk to one another, or even love one another. I felt the urgency of today. Today is all that we really have. Tomorrow is an illusion that may or may not happen. If your loved one is still here with you, then take advantage of today. Sit with them today. Talk to them today. Enjoy a quiet moment together today. Whisper those words that they’ve been longing to hear today…”Wait for me baby. I’m coming home.”
